What is an induction hob and what are the benefits over a traditional hob?
Induction hobs are an electric cooking surface that consists of a flat ceramic plate topped with a layer of metal coils. It uses magnetic fields to generate heat quickly and directly to the cookware placed on top of it. How does an induction hob work?
Induction technology works by generating a powerful magnetic field between the hob and the metal pot or pan you place on top of it. When you switch on the power, an electric current passes through the metal coils, which in turn create the magnetic field.
